Jamie Overton in full flow
Jack Leaning - the second best Jack at Headingley according to Mr Brooks, Leaning forced his way into the ulta competitive Yorkshire side last year and managed to keep his place. An elegant batsman, under the tutelage of Jason Gillespie he will only get better. One of a host of good players coming through at Headingley.
Leaning...a regular last year
Ben Duckett - the man with a surname that sounds like the utterance of every cricketer who has ever dropped a catch. Thing is, this keeper doesn't drop many. One of the bright stars in a shocking year at Northamptonshire last year, the shoe making folk will be hoping they can cling on to him in the way he clings on to catches. This boy can bat too.
Ravi Patel - 2014 was a breakthrough year for the young left arm spinner and Middlesex really need a decent one to complement their seam attack. A lovely action with plenty of ravs, sorry revs on the ball, the Londoner kept Ollie Rayner out of the side on many an occasion last year. He should get opportunities this year, and one to keep your eye on.
Shiv Thakor - the tastiest thing to come out of Leicester since Walkers Crisps according to one wag last year but the classy batsman has now decided to join Derbyshire. 2014 was blighted by injury and political in fighting at Grace Road and Shiv decided to find pastures new. 2015 is a crucial season for a player who is no doubt England material of the future.
Oli Stone - genuinely quick and this Norwich born lad was one of the best Norfolk born leaders of England in the tour to South Africa since Admiral Nelson. Allegedly he showed more vision though. Stone can bat too, and was another of the bright lights at Wantage Road last year. Lots of potential and his eleven wicket haul on the afore mentioned tour made the scribes all sit up and notice.
Jamie Overton - Jamie and twin brother Craig are both ones to watch in 2015. Jamie has serious wheels and at 6'5" is a right handful. He can also bat, preferring to give it a whack and this Devonian could well play in the Ashes this summer. Under the tutelage of the astute Matthew Maynard down at Taunton, he will only get better.
Kishen Velani - Essex man Kishen broke into the side last year and bats and bowls. A product of the Academy at Chelmsford, Kishen scored a stylish hundred at second team level last year. 2015 will be interesting to see if he keeps his place in the side.
Hastings Harry...no not that one
Harry Finch - the last man in Hastings called Harold ended up getting an arrow in the eye but this all rounder who hails from the Sussex seaside town bats, bowls, fields and does the lot. The apple of in the eye of Sussex fans, as opposed to the previous Harold, who if he worked for Apple would be able to patent the ifucked.
Tom Barber - one to watch down in Hampshire, this man has risen quicker than when the Mary Rose was dragged from the sea bed in these parts. The left arm seamer is definitely one to keep an eye on. Took two wickets in two balls against Yorkshire on his debut last year.
Happy New Year Stumpers!
